Dr. Prewitt received her B. S. degree in Chemistry, graduating Cum Laude, from St. Joseph's University in Philadelphia and her Medical degree from the University of Texas Medical School in Houston. She served her internship and residency in Obstetric and Gynecology at Washington University Medical Center, Barnes Hospital, in St. Louis, Missouri where she was awarded the "Teaching Resident of the Year" Award for three consecutive years. She was also a clinical faculty member at St. Louis University Medical School.
During her education career, Dr. Prewitt was also awarded the prestigious "Felix Rutledge Fellowship" in Gynecological Oncology at the University of Texas, M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.
